This is one among the few laptop coolers where the fan blows air directly on the pc rather than making an attempt to suck the new air far from the pc bottom, and it's highly effective! I even have tried the Antec, Targus CoolPad (original model), and one or two of others, all of that suck the new air rather than blowing directly on the pc bottom. Targus recently came out with a more moderen two-fan, non-suck (ie. direct blow) 4-port USB cooler that conjointly cools nice (bought that one too), however it feels like a jet plane starting up. The noise is totally intolerable. I exchanged it for one more, however the noise was constant. The Belkin F5L001 has one terribly quiet fan blowing directly onto the pc bottom, and will an excellent job. I even have no grievance with the build quality, and therefore the tilt door looks to figure fine. One issue that has to be noted (as a caution) is that if you are doing not use the built-in tilt stand (a very little door that folds down from the cooler body), then the fan air intake are going to be blocked, so probably damaging the fan and/or preventing airflow for cooling. If you employ the cooler on a flat surface, you need to use the lean stand.
